A Kitchen floor Should never be replaced in 2 days!

This last weekend was a fun weekend, but a long one. It all started on Friday night when I decided to pull up a layer of linoleum, and 12"x12" linoleum tiles. The linoleum tiles had started to come up, so the kitchen floor had to be replaced. I thought it would only take a few hours and I would be able to go to bed at 10, well at ten I had pulled up the linoleum, but there was still a layer of paper on the floor that I needed to get rid of. Thankfully my co-worker gave me a heat gun and I was able to get the paper up quicker . . . (quicker meaning that I finally finished at 2 AM.)

The next morning my friend Warren came over and helped me lay the new floor. The one good thing was that the floor was already level, so there was minimal prep work. After getting the vapor barrier down, things seemed to go a lot quicker. We got the glue down, had lunch, and then started laying tile. We found out that we were going to be pretty close on glue. It ended up that we used up all of the glue for the kitchen. It took all day. After getting the duraceramic tile laid, we went to dinner with Warren's wife and some friends. Then we returned home, and finished grouting. I had no idea that the project was going to take all day. I was grateful that Warren was willing to spend his whole day helping me put in my kitchen floor.

Sunday night we went to my sisters for dinner and then came home and started to scrub the floor to get all the grout residue up off the floor. It was taking a long time, so Jenny decided to just finish it the next day. After a long day of scrubbing the floor with help from her mom and brother, Jenny got the floor cleaned.

So after two long days and a lot of help from a good friend, Here is the finished product.

Bracelet

I just got done reading all 4 Twilight books and when I was reading Eclipse I said "How cool it would be if someone came out with a bracelet-like in the book!" Jon said "If someone was smart, they would come out with one." Well I found one on the internet today, but it is $63 bucks! I bet someone will come out with cheaper ones once the movie comes out. I know, I am a Twilight dork.

The Fastest Trip Ever!

Two weeks ago my brothers Jeff, Clark, and my "little-sister" Krista and I went on a bus trip to Disneyland. We left at 7:00 PM. This is us waiting for the bus to get there. My brothers and I have NEVER been to Disneyland and a few days before the trip Jon called me up wanting me to go with my brothers. I asked Jon if he wanted to come and he decided to stay home with Jaxson and study for his CPA exam. Plus I can't imagine Jaxson on the bus for that long. Yikes!!

We got to Disneyland at 6:30 AM California time. So we went to IHOP to kill a little time and then this is us below waiting to get in the park.

We had a lot of fun at Toon Town.

Krista and I had to be paparazzi--literally! We were running after them. But we got 'em!
This is a jungle boat ride with fake animals.

We were waiting for the Indiana Jones ride, one of my favorite rides.

Almost all of the rides had this pileup of strollers.
This is the Fantasmic Show. I thought this Peter Pan show on the ship was cool.

This is the ferry with almost all of the characters on it.

So I don't think I'll be going on anymore bus trips anytime soon. It was really hard to sleep with the swaying bus and I couldn't get comfortable. I did get sleep on the way home-thanks goodness. I didn't get to see anything else in California, because I woke up when we got there and fell asleep before we left at about 1:00 AM. We got back to Salt Lake at 12:30. Less than 48 hours! (42 hours)

24th of July and Hiking

On the 23rd of July we went to the Bountiful Parade for a little bit but if you notice in the second picture, Jaxson doesn't do well in heat, so we ended up watching the rest of the parade from El Matador.

On the 24th of July we had my family come for a bbq and playing water games in the back yard. It was a lot of fun. We didn't get pictures of water ballon volleyball though, which was on of the highlights of the day.

When Jon's mom was here she invited us to go on a hike with her and Hillary's family to Donut Falls, which is in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Jaxson did pretty good for his first hike. It was also Valerie's, at 4 or 5 weeks old.

Jaxson loved throwing rocks in the creek. He loved it so much, he wouldn't hike back down the mountain. He threw a fit the whole way to the car. Sooo the way up was great, made me want to go hiking more, but then on the way down, I was ready to start crying myself.

This is Abby on her Birthday. She was given Hannah Montana jewelry and stuff to dress up in. I think she looks pretty awesome. She turned 5 years old on July 29th.

Tweety

My friend, Kim, wrote in her blog about how her kids had a funeral for a bird that had died by there house. There is a link on the side to her blog--Way cute pictures of her kids and their special ceremony.

Anyway that got me remembering my pet Tweety. We had it for a few years and one Sunday my brother, Clark, came down the hall crying hysterically. That when he broke the news that Tweety had flown in between the bars of her cage and got lodged in it and died. So, my mom found a shoe box and we had a wonderful funeral. My dad found an awesome flat, big rock, that served as a tombstone....which later my uncle took and is now the center piece of there handmade waterfall.

A few years later, I think I was about 7 or 8 and my friend, Rachel and I were playing in the backyard and I showed her Tweety's grave. Somehow I got the idea that my friend needed to see Tweety. I started digging and decided to go get a shovel, when my brother, Jeff asked what I was doing. THANK GOODNESS he found out and stopped me. Could you imagine? I don't know what in the world I was thinking!!! May Tweety rest in peace.

Eclipse Switches

This is Bryce Dallas Howard who is going to be playing Victoria in Eclipse instead of Rachelle Lefevre. I think it's weird they keep changing things. Like there is yet another different director for Eclipse. So every movie is going to have a different director. I do like this girl Bryce Howard. She had been in "Lady in the Water," and "The Village." She is also the daughter of Ron Howard. I can see the resemblance with the red hair. The shows I have seen her in, she plays a sweet girl, so it's going to be hard to see her as a evil vampire. But you never know.
