Windstorm

Jon left for work about 7:00 and then I called him about 7:30 because I was freaking out. I saw that our fence was down, but what scared me was the sound of the siding coming off of our house. It was so loud and you could hear the popping of the nails coming out. I went down to the sun room and the door had come open and you could see the aluminum siding flapping around.

Here is the siding flying around the neighborhood.

This was a tree that went down and soon after the fireman came and I wondered why, but I didn't notice the house further in the picture with the tree leaning on it.

Make note of the standing pine tree closest to me in the picture. This is taken from my front yard.

Then that's my house to the left. I went across the street to take this picture. Jaxson and I watched this tree go down. A car had to swerve to miss it.

Our fences down. Hello Neighbors!

This is our fence to the north.

South side of our house.

This is our South fence. It looks like a tornado went through here because of the 'path.'

Here is our other next door neighbor's tree down now.

This house is on the corner of our street. I had a neighbor come to check on us and we were talking to him when we heard the roof section coming off.

On the left side of the road you can see the three trees down. This is taken on the corner of our street looking south.

This was my cute pink bear weathering the cold house.

We went to my mom's house later that night, since we still didn't have heat. It came on sometime in the night I heard.

I took these pictures the next day of my mom's Blue Spruce that had fallen.

Right after I took these pictures people from the ward came and chopped up the tree and hauled the branches off. Jaxson had a great time watching. Here is with uncle Clark.

We were worried about how we were going to get rid of the tree stump and the next day two guys came from the ward and removed it. My mom was so relieved.

A Month of Fun and Growing!

This month was a fun one for our family. My sister-in-law, Amy, came down from Washington. It was fun to be able to see her and TJ. When Amy's sisters saw Violet's blessing pictures they asked why we had put TJ in a dress, so we decided it would be fun to get a picture of the two of them together to see just how much they look like each other. We kept trying to get a good picture of Violet and TJ together, but they kept taking turns smiling. This is the best picture we were able to get of the two of the smiling at the same time.

Every year Jenny's brother, Jeff, invites us over to go swimming at his pool. This was only Violet's third time swimming, but she loves the water. She loved splashing around in her little crab-tube.

Jaxson has always loved swimming. Last year at Jeff's pool he tried to jump off the deep end without a life-jacket or any other floatation device on. It was quite an exciting moment in our lives. This year Jaxson didn't want to wear the tube, but we finally convinced him that he would need the tube. We had a great time swimming at Jeff's Pool!

Violet has started to crawl!! It was only a few weeks ago that she figured out how to roll over from her back to her front going both ways. She has been rolling over to her right for quite a while, but hasn't been rolling to her left. Well one day she rolled to her left, and then she took off. When she first started crawling she would move her hands and then do a little hop-like maneuver to move her legs.

With a little practice she has become and pro and is crawling everywhere.

It didn't take her long to figure out that she can pull herself up to things. Jenny and I are keeping our fingers crossed that she keeps it to crawling for a while. We aren't ready for a walking 7 month old.
Violet has also started clapping. She crawls around the house until she finds us and then she will sit down and clap, and then we, being the trained monkeys that we are, always clap back and say Yea . . . She is so proud of herself.

The other recent development at our house is that Jaxson has started Pre-school. This year he is going to joy school with some of his friends around the neighborhood. He went for the first time this last Tuesday!! He loved it. He was so excited to be able to go to school, and to take his backpack. Jaxson loves school!

Violet Ann Lay

It's been a while since we have posted and I figure that since we had a baby since our last post and she is now six months old, it is about time that we post about it. Violet Ann Lay was born January 25th, 2011 at 12:37 pm.
Violet was 21 inches long and 8 lbs 15 ounces. The nurse at the hospital originally told us that she was 23 inches long, but she didn't measure very carefully.
We blessed Violet April 10, 2011. It was nice to have most of the family here.

Our friend Krista came and took pictures of Violet in her blessing dress a couple of days before the blessing.
Our little family.
The Circle. The Grandparents Jaxson with his cousins from Jenny's side of the family. The cousins loved spending time with Violet. Jenny's Family. My Family In July, we went down to Saint George for my cousin, Laura's, wedding. Betweeen the wedding luncheon and the reception we took violet swimming for the first time. Jaxson also had a great time spending time in the pool. He loves spending time with his cousins and swimming. That day was a great day because he got to do both.Violet did really well traveling. We stopped by the St. George temple before we headed home.On our way home, we stopped by Kay and Lee's. We always talk about going down to Fillmore and seeing them, but it has been a while since we have made it, so we figured that if we are passing by, we have to stop.Since then Violet has continued to grow. She has started sitting up, and loves to play with her toys. She will lung forward to grab anything within reach, or even grab things that are just out of reach.
We love our little girl so much. She is growing up so quickly.

Jaxson turns 3!

One of Jaxson favorite things to do is go on FrontRunner or the train. So I thought that we be fun for his birthday. I met my mom and Clark at Woods Cross Station and then we went to McDonalds and met my cousins. My cousin, Kristina, has a little girl with the same birthday as Jaxson.

Jaxson would get really scared when the other trains would go by, they were really loud.

Then after McDonald we went to Kangaroo Zoo in Woods Cross with Amber and Jaxson's friend, Davis. He had a blast! It wasn't busy so they practically had the whole place to themselves.

Gotta get fueled up.

Jon took half the day off and so it was nice to have him chase Jaxson around.
Jaxson and Davis loved the minature golf course. They must have done it at least 6 times. They are so good at it too.
Jaxson took a good nap after that.
