Highlights of October

We went to Jon's grandma's to rake leaves. Fortunatly for us Jon's mom was in town helping his grandma recover from knee surgery, so we got spend time with both of them. Barbara had the kids do this cute activity that made these cupcakes look like eyeballs.

Jaxson drove Hannah and Emily nuts because he didn't keep the pile together.

Jaxson's first Horse ride at Uncle Deans. He loved it!

Jon's work's trick or treat. Zach and his son Carson.

We went to Black Island Farms with Joyce's Moms group. The kids had a blast.

One of Jaxson's favorites: The animal train ride.

They have awesome slides.

Jaxson picked his own pumpkin.
This was the kids waiting patiently for the 'hay' ride to begin.

Every year we go to our friend, Amber's, Hallowen party.
Jon and I were: Jonathan and Martha Kent (superman's parents)
Jaxson: Superman
We went to the ward party and Jaxson had a blast with his friend, Thomas, AKA Batman.

Even Superman gets tired.

Grandma Lay brought this for Jaxson. He was soooo excited!

This was at our friend's neighborhood party. I didn't get any other pictures, because it started to rain about 15 minutes later.

A summer of fun.

It has been a while since we have done a post, and we have had a few adventures this summer, so I thought I would post about the summer and all of the fun things that we did.Jaxson found out about the internet, and now thinks our computer is for watching Train videos on Youtube. We took Jaxson to see Toy Story 3 at the Movie theater. It is only the second movie he has been to, and he was very good throughout the whole movie. He loves Buzz!!I got my CPA License and rewarded myself with a video game and hours of playing nintendo. . . Jaxson took the picture. We have spent a lot of time out in the backyard. Jaxson loves to ride his tricycle.

We have also gone to a few fireworks shows and a parade. Jaxson loved the fireworks and would tell us Fi'eurk go BOOM!!!

We took Jaxson on his first road trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house. He did really well on the twelve hour car ride. He only had one half hour melt down on the way home. Jaxson loved playing with his cousins in the playhouse out back. This is them watching the neighbors shoot off fireworks.

The fireworks show at Grandma and Grandpa'a house. (VERY COLD.)On monday, the kids went and played down at the creek, by my parent's house, Jaxson had a great time playing with his cousins.
Tuesday, we went on a hike to horsetail falls, with all of the cousins, that live up in Washington.
This is a picture of all of the cousins at the falls, Ian is behind Matthew.

Jaxson had a great time playing with Bethany, climbing the walls and playing at the falls.

We took a day and went to the beach, We made the required stop at Mo's for lunch. It was delicious as always. Jenny and Jaxson at Cannon Beach
Jaxson loved playing in the ocean with his cousins.

But by the end of the day was worn out!

There was this baby Seal on the beach. They had a sign letting us know not to touch it or disturb it, that the mother brings it food.
We ended our trip to the beach with a tour of the tillamook cheese factory, and some ice cream.
After being in the car so many days, we decided the kids needed a break, so Thursday we spent the day playing at home, My sister, Ellen put out the swimming pool and filled water balloons for the kids to play out in the back yard. They had a great time, running around and getting wet.
We ended our trip at the Oregon Zoo. The oregon Zoo was huge, we went until we could go no more, and we still didn't see everything there was to see. (There is a Black Bear behind them.)

The bats were one of my favorite things, even though everything they had was really exciting. I was a little disappointed, because the lion exhibit had been closed for updating.

Despite the lion exhibit being closed, Jaxson had a great time with his gal-pal Bethany. We had a great time at my parents and were sad to go.
After four year of talking about it, my friend, Warren, and I finally backpacked the entire highline trail. 81.5 miles in 5 days. It was quite the adventure. Here are a few picture highlights from the trip.

This is me at the top of Anderson Pass. After all of the excitement of the trip, we were happy to get home, and be with our families again.
