Annual Swimming Trip

Every summer my family goes to the Roy Aquatic Center. We went just before school started. I think this was our 3rd or 4th year. It was more exciting this year with Jaxson. He had a great time with dad going down the slide. He liked it when they would go faster, he would giggle. I went with him and he seemed bored.

Ben and Abby are dolphins! They love swimming.

Brianna looked pretty good in her shades.

Look how tan Jake is! He made us all look so pale.

Ben is trying to work on his tan so he can be like his twin-cousin.

Jaxson has to be doing what his cousins are doing all the time. Brianna and Abby are usually inseperable. I'm glad that they make everyone get out of the pool, because then I was able to get all these great photos.

The Zoo

We were pretty excited about the baby elephant. It was really cute!

Jaxson really liked the penguins. I might have to get some of those penguin movies now.

Jaxson's other favorite animals were the Giraffes . They were really active. Once again there was a baby giraffe- so cute especially when it went to sit down, it looked like bambi. Most of the other animals were hot and lazy.

See this "Cat" behind the fence. It did not like Jaxson. He didn't want to go back and see it, so he was screaming. I'm glad those fences are strong...

My mom and my brother, Clark, decided to come to the zoo because they hadn't been in a long time like us. They were great to help us with Jaxson. He can be a handfull.

Jaxson had a lot of fun at the end in the playground area. I was excited for him to play in the tree house like I did when I was a kid, but they took it out. We were excited to get out of the heat and get some lunch at the end. We went to Greek Souvlaki afterwards-one of my favorite places to eat! Yummmmm!!

A Kitchen floor Should never be replaced in 2 days!

This last weekend was a fun weekend, but a long one. It all started on Friday night when I decided to pull up a layer of linoleum, and 12"x12" linoleum tiles. The linoleum tiles had started to come up, so the kitchen floor had to be replaced. I thought it would only take a few hours and I would be able to go to bed at 10, well at ten I had pulled up the linoleum, but there was still a layer of paper on the floor that I needed to get rid of. Thankfully my co-worker gave me a heat gun and I was able to get the paper up quicker . . . (quicker meaning that I finally finished at 2 AM.)

The next morning my friend Warren came over and helped me lay the new floor. The one good thing was that the floor was already level, so there was minimal prep work. After getting the vapor barrier down, things seemed to go a lot quicker. We got the glue down, had lunch, and then started laying tile. We found out that we were going to be pretty close on glue. It ended up that we used up all of the glue for the kitchen. It took all day. After getting the duraceramic tile laid, we went to dinner with Warren's wife and some friends. Then we returned home, and finished grouting. I had no idea that the project was going to take all day. I was grateful that Warren was willing to spend his whole day helping me put in my kitchen floor.

Sunday night we went to my sisters for dinner and then came home and started to scrub the floor to get all the grout residue up off the floor. It was taking a long time, so Jenny decided to just finish it the next day. After a long day of scrubbing the floor with help from her mom and brother, Jenny got the floor cleaned.

So after two long days and a lot of help from a good friend, Here is the finished product.

Bracelet

I just got done reading all 4 Twilight books and when I was reading Eclipse I said "How cool it would be if someone came out with a bracelet-like in the book!" Jon said "If someone was smart, they would come out with one." Well I found one on the internet today, but it is $63 bucks! I bet someone will come out with cheaper ones once the movie comes out. I know, I am a Twilight dork.

The Fastest Trip Ever!

Two weeks ago my brothers Jeff, Clark, and my "little-sister" Krista and I went on a bus trip to Disneyland. We left at 7:00 PM. This is us waiting for the bus to get there. My brothers and I have NEVER been to Disneyland and a few days before the trip Jon called me up wanting me to go with my brothers. I asked Jon if he wanted to come and he decided to stay home with Jaxson and study for his CPA exam. Plus I can't imagine Jaxson on the bus for that long. Yikes!!

We got to Disneyland at 6:30 AM California time. So we went to IHOP to kill a little time and then this is us below waiting to get in the park.

We had a lot of fun at Toon Town.

Krista and I had to be paparazzi--literally! We were running after them. But we got 'em!
This is a jungle boat ride with fake animals.

We were waiting for the Indiana Jones ride, one of my favorite rides.

Almost all of the rides had this pileup of strollers.
This is the Fantasmic Show. I thought this Peter Pan show on the ship was cool.

This is the ferry with almost all of the characters on it.

So I don't think I'll be going on anymore bus trips anytime soon. It was really hard to sleep with the swaying bus and I couldn't get comfortable. I did get sleep on the way home-thanks goodness. I didn't get to see anything else in California, because I woke up when we got there and fell asleep before we left at about 1:00 AM. We got back to Salt Lake at 12:30. Less than 48 hours! (42 hours)
